Happy Halloween!

Yay!! It's here!! Halloween's here! I cannot believe that today is the last day of October. I feel like I need a pause/slow mo button sometimes. Lol.

On Friday, Rudy and I carved our pumpkins. We usually put a face on the small one and then Rudy and I pick our own design for the other two larger ones. I picked the spider and he wanted the scarecrow. I'm in charge of tracing and taking all the nasty stuff in the inside. He's in charge of the carving. Last year we had the regular carver and he bought a electric one which made it a lot faster and easier on the arms.
 Rudy hard at work. :)

 I love decorating the house.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!

Turning the big 2-6

I am turning the big 2-6 tomorrow. I really cannot believe how fast time flies. It doesn't feel like another year passed already. I wish I could the world would slow down, but like that's really gonna happen.

I have never really dreaded turning another year older (not yet, anyhow). I feel so blessed to have lived another year of life, love, family and friends. I am lucky to have the family and friends that I have. My family have been there for me no matter what and I don't know what I would do without them. I know who my true friends are and I feel lucky to have met them. It's the friends who will be there at my wedding (in many many years from now), the ones whose kids will be friends with mine. I have had more than my share of fake friends and have luckily been able to weed them out. :)

At 26, I know exactly what I want to do with my career. Although it's something that I had and lost (due to economy), I know I will one day have my own classroom again and that I'll be the best teacher I can possibly be. Some days can be hard because I miss it so much, but I have a strong support system.

I look forward to another year of growth, life, love, family, and friendship.

Yes, I am truly blessed. So here's to being another year older. :)

Calabasas Harvest Festival

To continue with my Fall fever, Rudy and I went to the Calabasas Harvest Festival on Saturday. It's not super close to us, but when Rudy heard "pumpkin beer," he HAD to try it. It was so much fun!
We were looking for a square-shaped pumpkin just like Spookly the Pumpkin, but couldn't find any.
These cookies were so good!
Whoever was in this costume was awesome! He/she was dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and it was hilarious!
We were starving at the end. I got this awesome tri-tip plate and he got the Orange Chicken bowl (of course).
The pumpkin beer was not bad. He liked it and I even thought it was okay (I hate beer).

I love fall!

Forneris Farms

Since fall has started, I have been on fall fever, looking up apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and recipes. I found Forneris Farms online that was actually only about 30 minutes away that was having their harvest festival October 9 - November 7. I was super excited and the bf was awesome for taking me.

There were pumpkins everywhere and I loved it!

There was a pumpkin named Max and we had to guess it's weight. The person that gets the right answer (or closest to) gets the pumpkin and $100. I would love to put that on my front porch. The only problem is that I'm good at eyeing things out. I put 160 lbs and 8 ounces. Rudy put something along the lines of 80 lbs. Lol, big gap.

I was excited for the corn maze. I'm not good with direction so I had Rudy lead. Throughout the maze, there were CORNundrums that we had to figure out. There were 20, but by the time we got to the end of the maze, we only found 9. It was pretty warm, so we weren't looking to turn back to retrieve the rest. Lol. It took us about 40 minutes to get to the end. The maze looked pretty cool.

Rudy played some games (bowling using a small pumpkin and hitting the crows) and won a small pumpkin and train whistle.

Took some pictures with some friends.

The day was awesome and we were tired at the end of the day. This was actually the first pumpkin patch I've ever been to. Can't wait for next year's maze!

October/Fall is here!!

I am so happy that my favorite month is here! I love October! You can really see the beginning of fall in October. My birthday also falls on October 28th and I turn the big 2-6 this year (eek!). But what really excites me the most for October is HALLOWEEN!! I'm not particularly fond of dressing up, but I enjoy decorating my house and driving by decorated houses around the area. I get so excited which is probably just the kid in me. When I see Halloween stuff in the stores, I immediately go to that section. I carved my first pumpkins last year and it was just so fun. I love giving out candy to the children that come Halloween night and get so excited when I hear them commenting on the decorations. Some of the costumes are just so adorable and creative. I hope this October is a good one! These are the pumpkins from last year.

Fall is also my favorite season. I love seeing leaves turning orange, red, brown and yellow and falling to the ground. I love the cool weather (even though it's super hot right now in Los Angeles), scarves, mittens, and snuggling up to a movie and hot chocolate. The smell of baked goods smell even better in the fall for some reason. I absolutely love the Pumpkin Spice lattes/fraps at Starbucks and wish it wasn't seasonal. When I see a new food item with pumpkin on the menu, I feel like I just have to try it. This year, I'm going to try to bake some new things that I hope will turn out yummy. Fall also means Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are just around the corner! I love family gatherings and all of the great memories. My cousin's also getting married next month so that'll be so awesome. I am so excited fall is here and hope it the weather starts to feel like it soon!
