Rudy's 27th

Two weeks ago, we celebrated Rudy's 27th birthday at none other than...

Speed Zone. 

He's a big fan of Formula One (and this is about as close as he's going to get to it). 

Our good friends Lorenzo and Brian joined us in the fun.

I, of course, came in last at just about every track. When I saw Rudy in his Ferrari shirt and checkered Vans, I knew I was dunzo. 

The guys had so much fun and it really meant a lot to him that they came along for the ride (yes, I really did put ride).

Happy birthday Lucille Ball!

Yesterday was Lucille Ball's 100th birthday. They had an "I Love Lucy" marathon all weekend on the Hallmark channel. "I Love Lucy" is my favorite show. I never get tired of watching it! It's so funny and so crazy at times. My sister bought me the whole collection for my birthday a few years ago and I watch it when nothing else is on TV. Rudy always asks me if the "I Love Lucy" marathon is on. Lol.

I was only 4 years old when she passed away and can't believe that this show was made when my parents were born. My mom and sister love the show too. We all love Lucy. :)

This is one of the funniest parts of the series. I would've LOVED to been part of the audience on any episode. Their laughter makes me wish I was there. 

Happy 100th birthday Lucille Ball! Thank you for bringing so much laughter into my life! 

My 26th Birthday

My birthday was awesome last week and pretty much continued on for another week. On my actual birthday (which was on Thursday) I came home to a adorable flower arrangement from Lei and Nach. I've never gotten anything like this so I was super excited. 

My mom made one of my favorite Chinese dishes. It was so good. Rudy bought this cake that I absolutely love! It's flan cheesecake! Two of my favorite things together! It's truly heaven.

On Friday, I got to have dinner with my Lil sis Amanda. We went to Olive Garden, which I was craving for 

f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Lol. It was great seeing her and catching up. The breadsticks and soup are yummy!

 On Saturday, I had a birthday lunch at 38 Degrees in Alhambra. I knew since it was Halloween weekend, it wasn't a good idea to have a dinner. I was super excited to see all my friends together. Time passes by so fast, so I love get togethers where I can hang out with my dearies. I truly felt loved and blessed. 

I really wanted a group picture of everyone and got it! 

 These girls are my sorority sisters. I was so happy to see all of them. 

On Wednesday, I got a huge surprise when this came to the door. I've never gotten an Edible Arrangement before. They were from my son Emil. I love him to pieces and they were so g-o-o-d.

On Thursday, I went to dinner with my Sweetheart sis Monique. We went to Crane Sushi and she got my these delicious cupcakes! 

This birthday has truly been amazing. Thank you to everyone for your text messages, phone calls, facebook wishes, and everything else. I had an amazing birthday and felt really loved. :)

Turning the big 2-6

I am turning the big 2-6 tomorrow. I really cannot believe how fast time flies. It doesn't feel like another year passed already. I wish I could the world would slow down, but like that's really gonna happen.

I have never really dreaded turning another year older (not yet, anyhow). I feel so blessed to have lived another year of life, love, family and friends. I am lucky to have the family and friends that I have. My family have been there for me no matter what and I don't know what I would do without them. I know who my true friends are and I feel lucky to have met them. It's the friends who will be there at my wedding (in many many years from now), the ones whose kids will be friends with mine. I have had more than my share of fake friends and have luckily been able to weed them out. :)

At 26, I know exactly what I want to do with my career. Although it's something that I had and lost (due to economy), I know I will one day have my own classroom again and that I'll be the best teacher I can possibly be. Some days can be hard because I miss it so much, but I have a strong support system. 

I look forward to another year of growth, life, love, family, and friendship.

Yes, I am truly blessed. So here's to being another year older. :)

September Birthdays

I l-o-v-e family gatherings with my mom's side of the family. We have them throughout the year for birthdays, religious things, holidays, etc. My mom has 3 brothers and 3 sisters, so everyone in the family comes to these events when they can. We celebrated September birthdays yesterday at my uncle's house and had soooo much delicious food. The desserts were the type where even though you're stuffed, you have to keep eating because it's just that good. I always have a blast at these gatherings. I'm so blessed to have the family that I have. 

My dad's face is so funny. My sister and I cracked up. We took 3 family pictures and his face is the same in each one. Lol!

Labor Day Weekend

This three day weekend was pretty awesome. Rudy had his birthday bbq on Saturday and some his bros and family came over to celebrate. He turned 25 and had a blast. 

The cake was sooo good. It was a white cake with custard and strawberry filling. Yum!

On Sunday, it was my dad's birthday. We went to my uncle's house for a Labor Day bbq. The food was soo good. Skewers, ribs, and other awesome food. 

Yesterday, Rudy and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I can't believe we've been together for 3 years. He is such a wonderful boyfriend and I am so lucky to have him. 

We first went to Auntie Em's for breakfast. I just l-o-v-e their food. I got the honey orange french toast and he got the BLAST sandwich. Both were just so good. 

Then we went to The Arboretum in Arcadia. I've lived in the area all my life and this is the first time I've been. Luckily the weather was beautiful for the long walk.  

 

After we got foot massages (which felt awesome after the walk), we went to the Santa Monica pier. We ate at Bubba Gumps and Rudy won me some prizes. We love "The Simpsons." :)
